We are pleased to announce that online ESOL for Social Care course is now live and available to book. 
This is a self-paced course suitable for candidates who have completed ESOL Entry level 3/B1 or above and wish to work in the care sector in the UK.
You will:

• develop the communication skills necessary in order to work in the health and care industry in the UK
• gain understanding of the language used in professional settings
• access further vocational training in the adult care sector

Immigrants applying through certain legal routes must meet an A level equivalent standard in speaking, listening, reading and writing (B2/CEFR).  
The Secure English Language Test must be conducted with a Home Office-approved provider, and the results will then be verified as part of the visa application process. 

The changes, which will come into force from 8 January 2026, will affect some graduates and those applying for skilled worker or scale-up visas, which are for people employed by fast-growing businesses.

If you are in the UK 
You can only take a SELT with one of the following providers:​

New Immigration White Paper, published by the government on 12 May 2025.

English language 
Introduce new English language requirements across a broader range of immigration routes, for both main applicants and their dependants, to ensure a better knowledge of English, including an assessment of improvements over time.  
Earned settlement and citizenship 
Double the standard qualifying period for settlement to 10 years. 
Expand the points-based system to both settlement and citizenship rules, so they are based on contribution to the UK, with further details to be set out to Parliament by the end of the year. 
The policies outlined, part of the government’s Plan for Change, will be delivered over the course of this Parliament to strengthen the UK’s immigration system, with the first changes set to be introduced in the coming weeks. 
The government will publish further reforms to the asylum system and border security later this summer.
