ESOL for Medical Purposes online
Course facts:
An online self-study course for non-native medical professionals who wish to improve their communication skills in the field of medicine.
All four skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) are practiced through a variety of practical scenarios and activities. In addition, there are grammar and vocabulary sections in each unit.
The course consists of five Units.
Each learner will be allocated a tutor who will provide feedback and support during the course. Method of communication with the tutor is via the learning platform.
Access to the learning platform is available 24 hours a day /7 days a week.

- Patient interviews, filling forms (admissions, assessments, questionnaires, discharge etc)

Assessment and Award:
There are five tutor-marked assessments in this course.

Requirements:
Learners must:
1. have access to a laptop, tablet or desktop computer with fast internet connection in order to complete this course. System requirements: Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari.
2. be IT literate, i.e. login with email and password, browse and navigate through the learning platform, create, edit and submit files, play audios/videos, use email, turn on/off camera and microphone on their device etc.
3. be 18+ years of age.
4. spend around 4-5 hours/week studying (incl. tests). Note that this is only an estimation, the actual study time will depend on the individual.
This course is suitable for candidates with strong knowledge of the English language (recommended B2 level/CEFR) who wish to develop their language skills: you can read/write instructions, fully understand/participate in familiar conversations, you know the past, present and future tenses.
