Our general ESOL courses include 5 tutor-marked assessments. See course descriptions for details.
The assessment practices are explained in detail (with examples) in the Assessment Guide which can be found on students' TMPs (Tutor Messaging Platform). The minimum score required to pass any course is 60%/100%. This is minimum 60% on each assessment. To be able to progress to the next level, ideally, students should achieve 85% or above. This score means that the student has 'established knowledge' at that level and is ready to move up. Students can still move up to the next level course even if their scores are between 60%- 84%, however, there may still be gaps in their knowledge that need addressing. If you have any questions, please contact your tutor.
