NMC will accept the Occupational English Test (OET) in addition to the International English Language Test System (IELTS), as proof of a nurse or midwife’s English language competence. Prepare for IELTS Academic online Enrol on Online ESOL for Medical Purposes (this course will give you a solid foundation if you chose to prepare for the OET) Suitable for all medical professionals. Volunteers needed to work in an Electrical store in South Street, Romford, Essex.
Roles would include till staff, shop floor advisors, stock room help and people to test electrical goods by doing basic function tests. Opening hours 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sundays. Any amount of hours and days would be considered. In return ESOL students get the benefit of an environment in which to practice their English. You will receive your Certificate of completion which is posted to your address. This confirms that you have had guided English language training at a certain level and you have successfully completed a number of tutor-marked assessments. Usually, this is a sufficient proof of your language competency and many employers and institutions accept our certificates. You may require a formal ESOL qualification in which case, you will need to book your face to face exam. Read more here. This is optional. Also, you may be interested in SELT (Secure English Language Test) if you want to apply for citizenship or visa for example. This is booked through Trinity exam centres. https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/knowledge-of-english If you are applying to study, work or live in the UK and require a formal proof of English language competence, you should contact the institution you are applying to directly to find out their requirements. We are pleased to report a steady rise of the number of learners achieving pass scores of 80+%/100% for ESOL Beginner course, followed by 78% Intermediate level and 72% Advanced for the period April 2016- April 2017.
Learners must complete five tutor-marked assessments at each level and achieve at least 60%/100% in order to pass. Other courses: ESOL for Medical Purposes: 94%/100% ESOL Listening &Speaking: 70%/100% ESOL for Business: data not yet available *new course Factors that may affect the pass scores: lack of motivation, starting at the wrong level (not taken the placement test), lack of available time to complete studies, insufficient IT skills.
